A Better Planet

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of a difference you want to make.”

- Jane Goodall -

We understand every decision we make has an impact beyond our immediate line of sight. It’s our responsibility to take a holistic approach to sustainability.

Waste reduction, materials used, human rights, mindful packaging, and reducing our carbon footprint are among the important areas for us to stay true to our standards of doing things the right way. We're committed to doing the hard things.

Thoughtful Design

Due to the surge of fast fashion, clothing utilization (how often we wear something) has decreased by 36% compared to 15 years ago.

We've gone old school to thoughtfully design all of our gear in-house and work with top manufacturers to produce it rather than buy from bulk wholesalers. This method takes longer and costs more, but it gives us total control over every detail that ultimately leads to better fitting & longer lasting gear.

And we believe that provides significant value.

We’re committed to using the most innovative, high-quality, longest lasting, and sustainable materials available. This costs about 4-6x more to do so, but the value it brings is worth it.

Whether it’s fabric made from recycled plastic, merino wool, or other organic materials, we’re on a mission to be as sustainable as possible.

Reduce Waste ♼

The US generates 82 pounds of textiles per person per year, only 15% of which gets recycled - meaning 85% of it goes to our landfills.

Similarly, 91% of plastic goes unrecycled and 8 million tons of plastic flow into our oceans every year. Sigh.

We’re instilling environmental care practices such as crafting high-quality gear built to last longer, reducing our plastic consumption, and using recycled & compostable material for packaging.

As we began our journey, it was alarming to us how hard it was to find out where the products we buy come from and what they are made of. We’ve set out to make it clear where our products are made, who is making them, and that the conditions of the factories adhere to our standards.

Our promise is to constantly improve every step of the process and be a positive force in the industry, not just one that limits its negative impacts.
